CEC organised a competition and found out that a 80g newspaper bag can withstand 53.7kg of loads. CEC also lends reusable cups to on-campus activities to reduce single-use paper and plastic cups usage. Besides, Curtin Veggie Garden was started at the Lakeside Apartment. A new Curtin Environmental Ambassador (CEA) Programme was also introduced to provide necessary leadership skills for the next CEC committees to run environmental activities.
CEC was formally adopted by Curtin Sarawak Environmental Sustainability Committee (ESC) on 11 March 2013.
CEC promotes cycling at Curtin Sarawak campus and Senadin through various activities. CEC also aims to reduce waste production of the university's students and staff.
CEC was officially approved by Curtin Sarawak Student Council on 20 July 2012 11:12 AM. Some activities, such as Smarter Flush, tree planting and a competition were organized.
CEC Founder Han Yi Chiew approached his lecturer Jason Chia Keh Leong to share his idea of forming the club. They soon found some students to form the club.
